    The dimensions of the rectangle are;

    Width = 3 inches

    Length = 9 inches

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Given;

    Perimeter of the rectangle is 24 inches Length is 6 inches more than the width

    We want to determine the dimensions of the rectangle;

    Let the width of the rectangle be x inches This means, the length of the rectangle will be (x+6) inches But, Perimeter = 2 (L+W)

    Forming an equation, we get;

    2 (x + x + 6) = 24

    4x + 12 = 24

    With the equation we can solve for x

    4x = 24 - 12

    4x = 12

    x = 3

    and (x + 6) = 9

    Therefore;

    Width = 3 inches

    Length = 9 inches
