If you currently swim 5 laps a day, 3 days a week, and you want to add on 2 laps per day that you swim. Write an equation in function form that gives the total number of laps as a function of the number of times you have been swimming since you started adding laps. Then, find the total number of laps you swim in 8 weeks if you swim 3 times a week.

    Two more laps per swimming day make 7 laps. If y is total laps and the number of swimming days, y=f (x) = 7x.

    The value of x=8*3=24 swimming days. Therefore y=7*24=168 laps.
