    Almond: $7/4 per pound

    Jelly Bean: $ 11/4 per pound

    Step-by-step explanation:

    A: almond

    J: jelly bean

    3A + 5J = 19 ... multiply 9 each side

    27A + 45J = 171 ... (1)

    9A + 7J = 35 ... multiply 3 each side

    27A + 21J = 105 ... (2)

    (1) - (2) 24J = 66

    J = 66/24 = 11/4

    3A + 5 x 11/4 = 19

    3A = 21 / 4

    A = 7/4
