A restaurant has a total of 27 tables and booths. Each table seats up to 8 people and each booth seats up to 4 people. The restaurant can seat a total of 140 people. How many booths are in the restaurant?

    T + B = 27 And 8T + 4B = 144 (maximum capacity)

    8T + 4B = 144 → 4B = 144 - 8T → And B = 35 - 2T

    Plugin B value in 1st equation (T+B = 27)

    T + 35 - 2T = 27

    - T = 27 - 35 → - T = - 8 And T = 8. If T = 8 then B = 27-8 = 19

    Then there are 19 Boots
