Sarah the cheetah ran 100 meters at a speed of 16.8 meters per second. An olympian ran the 100-meter dash in 9.6 seconds.     First let us calculate for the speed of the Olympian runner by taking the ratio of distance over time.

    Olympian speed = 100 m / 9.6 s

    Olympian speed = 10.4 m/s

    Therefore the difference in speed is:

    16.8 m/s - 10.4 m/s = 6.4 meters per second
