In a port, the median weight of a container is 4,700 lbs, with a standard deviation of 500 pounds. 14% of the containers weigh more than 5,900 pounds.

Why can't this data be represented by a normal distribution?

Because the containers are too heavy.

Because the standard deviation is too small.

Because the standard deviation is too big.

Because we don't know the number of containers.

    A normal distribution works best for a very large sample size. Without knowing the number of containers, it's difficult to say whether or not it's an appropriate model for representing the distribution of container weights.
