    So in equations, you must do to one side what you do to the other so that it will be equal

    so - s+4=7s-3

    so add s to both sides

    s-s+4=7s-3+s or 4=8s-3

    you the add 3 to both sides

    3+4=8s-3+3 or 7=8s

    then divide both sides by 8 and get

    7/8=s

    When solving equations like this, the most important thing is to keep it balanced, for example multiplying both sides by 3 or adding 5 to each expression.

    -s+4=7s-3

    We add 3 to both sides and get:

    -s+7=7s

    Now we add s to both sides

    7=8s

    We divide both sides by 8

    7/8=s
