Answer: 0.395 Km from the hole was Martin when he started.

    Step-by-step explanation:

Let be K the distance to the hole when Martin started

We are told that first the ball traveled 4/5 of K

Then the ball has yet to go:

    K - 4K/5 = (5K - 4K) / 5 = K/5

    We are told that K/5 = 79m

    Then K = 5*79m = 395m

    We know 1Km = 1,000m

    Then 395m*1km➗1,000m = 0.395 Km

Answer: 0.395 Km from the hole was Martin when he started.
