An even integer can be represented by the expression 2n, where n is any integer. Find three consecutive even integers that have a sum of 54.

    I think the answer is 8,10,12 because the set up would be 1) 2n

    2) 2n+2

    3) 2n+4 so then the equation is 6n+6=54 and when u solve the answer is 8. but then you also need the other two numbers so add 2 to 8 then add 2 to 10

    so first divide 54 by 2

    54/2 = 27

    now you need 3 consecutive so 27/3 = 9

    9*2 = 18

    now use 1 number less and 1 number more

    8*2 = 16

    10*2 = 20

    16 + 18+20 = 54
