Jen read 4/5 of a book ... leaving 1/5 left to read

she then read 2/3 of what she had left ... 2/3 of 1/5 = ... " of " means multiply

    2/3 * 1/5 = 2/15

    5/5 - (4/5 + 2/15) =

    5/5 - (12/15 + 2/15) =

    5/5 - 14/15 =

    15/15 - 14/15 =

    1/15 < = = = 1/15 of the book is left to read

After Jen read 4/5 (12/15) of a book there was 1/5 left.

The next day she reads 2/3 of 1/5 which equals 2/15 of the book

So by 2 days 14/15 of the book is read and there is 1/15 left.
