    Divide by 3 to each ingredient (gives you a third) and then multiply your answer by two (gives you 2/3). For example, 2 divided by 3 is 2/3, multiply by two and get 1 1/3 t of butter. For the fruits, 4 divided by 3 is 4/3, simplified is 1 1/3, multiply by 2 and get 2 2/3.

    The given amount of ingredients are needed to make 'one recipe', Therefore to make 2/3 of the recipe, the required quantity of each ingredient will be multiplied by 2/3 to get:

    Flour - -> 3 x 2/3 = 2 cups

    Salt - -> 1/2 x 2/3 = 1/3 teaspoons

    Sugar - -> 3/4 x 2/3 = 1/2 cups

    Fruit - -> 4 x 2/3 = 8/3 cups

    Butter - -> 2 x 2/3 = 4/3 cups
