Kelly is having a party. She wants to make punch. The recipe for punch uses 2 pints of pineapple juice, 3 cups of orange juice, 3/4 gallon of lemonade, and 2 quarts of apricot nectar.

Kelly says her recipe will make 28 cups of punch.

Is Kelly correct?

    Kelly is not correct. There are 2 cups in a pint resulting in 4 cups of pineapple juice. We already know that we have 3 cups of orange juice. There are 16 cups in a gallon and we divide that by 4 and multiply it by 3 to find that there are 12 cups in 3/4 of a gallon. There are 4 cups in a quart resulting in 8 cups of apricot nectar. We then add everything together. 4+3+12+8=27 cups of punch.

    No, because if you add it up all together her recipe does not call for 20 cups.
