A standard shower head in Marty's house dispenses 7 gallons of water per minute. Marty changed this shower head to an energy-saving one. The equation shows the amount of water dispensed, y, as a function of the number of minutes, x, for the new shower head.

y = 3x

How much water does Marty save each day with the change in shower heads if he uses the shower for 8 minutes each day?

A. 4 gallons

B. 12 gallons

C. 32 gallons

D. 53 gallons

    The standard shower head, if used for 8 minutes a day, will use up 56 gallons by the end of the day. The energy saving one will only use up 24 gallons by the end of the day if it is used for eight minutes. Take 24 and subtract it from 56. The difference of 24 and 56 is 32 (56-24=32). So the answer is C, 32 gallons.

    Its C. Because he uses 56 gallons with the normal shower head but only uses 24 with the saving one. 56-24+32
