The perimeter of a rectangle is 44 cm. The length is two more than three times the width. What is the area?

    Consider width as x.

    then the length is 3x+2

    so perimeter of a rectangle is 2 * (length+width)

    =2 * (x+3x+2)

    =8x+4

    8x+4 = 44

    solving x = 5

    so width=5 cm & length=17cm
