Sweet T notice the ratio of long boards to short boards was 1:4. If there were 35 surfboards at the beach, how many were short boards?

    Okay. So for every 5 surfboards, 4 will be short, and 1 will be long. 5 goes into 35 7 times. So we need to multiply 7 x 4, which is 28.

    There will be 28 short boards at the beach.
