The vertices of triangle R'S'T' are R' (1, 3), S' (6, 4), and T' (4, 2). If triangle RST was dilated about the origin with a scale factor of 3, what are the coordinates of its vertices? A. R (-3, - 1), S (-4, - 6), T (-2, - 4). B. R (1, - 3), S (6, - 4), T (4, - 2). C. R (3, 9), S (18, 12), T (12, 6)

    Original Vertices:

    R' (1,3)

    S' (6,4)

    T' (4,2)

    Dilated w / a scale factor of 3.

    1 x 3 = 3; 3 x 3 = 9 ⇒ R (3,9)

    6 x 3 = 18; 4 x 3 = 12 ⇒ S (18,12)

    4 x 3 = 12; 2 x 3 = 6 ⇒ T (12,6)

    Answer is: C. R (3, 9), S (18, 12), T (12, 6)
