Of the 1000 students surveyed, 48%, or 480, are honor roll students. Of those 480, 45%, or 216, play sports.

Of the remaining 520 non-honor-roll students, 22%, or 114.4 don't play sports. That leaves 405.6 that do.

    Thus, of the 1000 students surveyed, 216 + 405.6 = 621.6 play sports, for a ratio of 621.6/1000 = 0.6126.

The probability that a randomly chosen student plays sports in school is about 0.6216.
