The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France was built for the Universal Exposition in 1889 to commemorate the centennial of the French Revolution. It is made of wrought iron and stands 312 meters tall. If a model of the tower is 26 centimeters tall, what is the scale of the model?

    To find the scale, first and foremost you should convert the length to cm:

    312 meters = 312 x 100 = 31,200 cm, hence the scale of the model is:

    26/31200 = 1/1200
