A man traveled a certain number of miles by automobile and then nine times as far by airplane. His total trip was 600 miles in length. How far did he travel by plane?

    He traveled 540 miles by plane. (That took me way longer than it should have)

    60*9 = 540 and 540+60=600 and Viola!
