A company was $10,890 in debt at the beginning of July. If the company's debt had been reduced to $4,350 by the end of July, how much of its debt did the company pay off throughout the month?

    The correct asnwer would be 60% of the debit

    If the company was in debt by 10,890 ... and the debt has been reduced to 4350 ...

    then the company payed off : 10890 - 4350 = 6540 < = = so they paid off

    6540 ... or 6540/10890 = 60% of the debt
