5. A gym membership costs $30 to join and $12 each month. Write and use an algebraic expression to find the cost of the gym membership for 6 months.

    Y=12 (6) + 30

    or

    y=12x+30

    x is the variable for the number of months.

    Y is the total cost of the membership.

    30+12 x 6 and it's 12 x 6 first which is 72 so it's now 30+72=$102
