    Mrs. Kwok is 42.

    Her daughter is 12.

    Step-by-step explanation: Mrs. Knok's age = x Daughter's age = y

    x-6=3y, (x-8) + 2=9 (y-8)

    x-6=9y-72

    (x-6) - (x-6) = (9y-72) - (3y) x-6=3 (12)

    0 = 6y-72 x-6=36

    6y=72 x=42

    y=12
