A fruit stand has a 18 red apples. this is 40% of the total apples in the stand. How many apples are in their stand?

    You would multiply 18 by. 4 and then add it to 18. 18 *.4 = 7.2. Since you can't have one fifth of an apple, it's 25 total.

    18+18=36. 20% is 9 apples. 36+9=45. 45 apples at the stand. (not good for business)
