A car traveling at 65 mph leaves a 25 foot skid mark. What is the ratio of the speed (mph) to length of skid mark (feet) ? Give your answer in simplest form.

    The ratio is 65 mph / 25 feet It's an odd unit but that's what it is. It does not change.

    Divide top and bottom by 5

    65 : 5 = 13

    25 : 5 = 5

    So the ratio in simplest form is 13/5.
