There are 3 times as many ducks as cows on a farm. There are 400 legs altogether. How many ducks and cows are there altogether?

    x 2 + 1u x 4 = 10u - - - 400

    1u - - - 400/10 = 40 (cows)

    3u - - - 40 x 3 = 120 (ducks)

    Answer 120 ducks and 40 cows, totalling 160.
