If a rectangle was rotated about the y-axis, like the one shown below, what would be the resulting three-dimensional shape?

    You didn't include the figure.

    Normally this kind of questions uses a rectangle with the base resting on the positive x-semiaxis and the height resting on the positive y-semiaxis.

    In that case, when you rotate the rectangle about the y-axis you will generate a cylinder, with diameter equal to two times the base of the rectangle and height equal to the height of the rectangle.
