    Volume of a Cone = (1/3) * (pi) * (radius) * (radius) * (height)

    we are given:

    pi = 3.14

    height = 6

    Volume = 8 (3.14)

    plug in

    8 (3.14) = (1/3) * (3.14) * (radius) ^2 * (6)

    8 = (1/3) * (6) * (radius) ^2 [divided both sides by 3.14]

    8 = (2) * (radius) ^2 [simplified (1/3) * (6) ]

    4 = (radius) ^2 [divided 2 from both sides]

    radius = 2 [square rooted both sides (sqrt (4)) = 2]

    therefore the radius = 2 ft
