2 1/8 + 1 3/4 is? (In simplest form)

    Try getting both denominators (bottom number of a fraction) to be equal. We would multiply 3/4 by 2 so now it's 6/8 now that both denominators are equal we can add them, 6/8 plus 1/8 is 7/8. Finally adding the whole numbers, our answer is 3 with 7/8.

    3 1/3 I presume because 1 + 3 is 4 and 8 + 4 is 12. 4/12 into. simplest form is 1/3.
