A bag contains x blue chips and y red chips. If the probability of selecting a red chip at random is 3/7, then x/y.

    Let P = probability given

    P = red / (red + blue)

    3/7 = 3 / (3 + blue)

    This means that blue must be 4 to get a sum of 7.

    Answer: 4/3
