    we need 21 cartons to cover 63 cubic feet

    Step-by-step explanation:

    To start we have to find the volume of a single cardboard box

    3 cartons hold 9 cubic feet of space

    b = box

    we divide by 3 of both sides and find how much volume a box has

    3b = 9

    3b/3 = 9/3

    1b = 3

    Now if it tells us that we have a volume of 63 cubic feet and our boxes cover 3 cuvic feet we have to divide 63 by 3

    63 / 3 = 21

    we need 21 cartons to cover 63 cubic feet
