Oliver watched 11 less hours of television in February than Elise watched. If o represents the amount of hours Oliver watched television and e represents the amount of hours Elise watched television, the equation that can be used in this situation is, e-11=o. If Oliver watched 23 hours of television in February, how many hours did Elise watch?

    E-11=23 so if we do the opposite operation 23 + 11=34 hours of tv that Elise watched.

    e - 11 = 23

    e - 11 + 11 = 23 + 11

    e = 23 + 11

    e = 34
