A tall tomato plant with mottled leaves is crossed with a short plant with normal leaves. You get all tall, normal leafed F1 plants. You cross the F1 plants with a short, mottled leafed plant. You observe the following progeny phenotypes: Tall, mottled leaves 395 Short, normal leaves 400 Tall, normal leaves 105 Short, mottle leaves 100 Propose a null hypothesis. What would be the expected values from this hypothesis?

    Because the null is that the traits are not linked, the expected values would be:

    Tall, mottled leaves 250

    Short, normal leaves 250
