    Scale:actual=1/4:8=1/4/8=1/32

    if scale=2 then

    1/32=2/actual

    times both sides by 32actual (cross multiply

    actual=32 times 2

    actual=64 miles

    0.25 = 8

    2.00 = x

    How many 0.25's go into 1.00? 4.

    There are two 1.00's.

    Multiply 4 by 2, you get 8.

    So multiply 8 by 8 to get 64

    64 is your total miles.
