Michael is measuring fabric for the costumes of a school play. he needs 47 feet of fabric. he has 12 1/3 yards of fabric. how many more yards

of fabric does he need

    {1 yard = 3 feet.}

    12 yard = 36 feet

    1/3 yard = 1 feet 12 1/3 = 36 + 1 = 37

    47-37 = 10 more feet is needed. 10/3 = 3.33333 (3 1/3)
