A rectangular prism has a base with side lengths x and x+3, and a height 2x. What is the surface area & volume of the prism?

    The surface area of the prism is given by:

    Area=2 (x*2x) + 2 (x (x+3)) + 2 (2x (x+3))

    =4x^2+2x^2+6x+4x^2+12x

    =10x^2+18x sq. units

    The volume will be given by:

    V=length*width*height

    =2x*x * (x+3)

    =2x^3+6x^2 cubic units
