The circumference of a circle is 6 2/7 miles. What is the area of the circle in square miles? (Use 22/7 for pi)

    2πr=6 2/7 = 44/7

    solve for radius.

    2 (22/7) r = 44/7

    44/7r=44/7

    r=1

    A=πr^2

    A = (22/7) (1) ^2=22/7 mile^2
