96=60+36

1/6 times 96=1/6 times (60+36) = 1/6 (60) + 1/6 (36) = 10+6=16

96 : 6 = (90 + 6) : 6 = 90 : 6 + 6 : 6 = (60 + 30) : 6 + 1
