Carpenter has boards of equal length. He cuts 3/5 of each board. The carpenter notices he has enough pieces left over to make up the same length as 4 of the original boards. How many boards did the carpenter start with?

    10 boards. 2/5=0.4 4 divided by 0.4 = 10 10 2/5s means that there will be 10 full boards in the beginning
