Multiply every term of the left binomial by every term of the right binomial.

    (3x - 2) (3x + 2) =

    = 3x * 3x + 3x * 2 + (-2) * 3x + (-2) * 2

    Do the four multiplications.

    = 9x^2 + 6x - 6x - 4

    Now combine like terms.

    = 9x^2 - 4
