Find the distance in km between the following pair of cities, assuming they lie on the same north-south line. The radius of the Earth is approximately 6400 km.

City A, 35° N, and City B, 22° S

    35+22 = 57 degrees between the two cities

    The arc distance between them is radius x angle

    Convert 57 degrees to radians is 57*Pi/180 =.995

    Then 6400*.995 = 6367 km.
