To find the GCF of several numbers the first thing you have to do is decompose the numbers, so:
24 | 2
12 | 2
6 | 2
3 | 3

24 = 2 x 2 x 2 x3
24 = 2³ x 3
21 | 3
7 | 7
1
21 = 7 x 3
GCF = common factors with the lowest exponents
GCF = 3
