    The club brought 10 containers of blue paint.

    And 12 containers of silver paint.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    The cost of blue paint 5 - ounce container = $2

    The cost of silver paint 2 - ounce container = $3

    Total money spent = $56

    Total weight purchased = 74 ounces

    Let the number so blue container purchased = x

    And the number of silver containers = y

    Now, according to the question:

    5x + 2y = 74

    and 2x + 3y = 56

    Solving the given system of equations, we get

    y = 12

    If, y = 12. then x : 5x = 74 - 24 = 50

    or, x = 50/5 = 10

    So, the value of x = 10, and value of y = 12

    Hence, the club brought 10 containers of blue paint.

    And 12 containers of silver paint.
