    f (x) = x^2-4x-12

    factor

    (x-6) (x+2)

    The zeros are at 6, - 2

    to find the vertex find the axis of symetry

    the axis of symmerty is at (-2+6) / 2=4/2 = 2

    x=2

    to find the y coordinate, put it into the equation

    y = 2^2 - 4 (2) - 12

    = 4-8-12

    = 4-20

    = - 16

    vertex (2,-16)

    largest x intercept x=6

    y intercept - 12
