What is the axis of symmetry of h (x) = 5x^2+40x+64

    For ax^2 + bx + c, the axis of symmetry is given by

    ... x = - b / (2a)

    You have

    ... a = 5

    ... b = 40

    so the axis of symmetry is

    ... x = - 40 / (2*5)

    ... x = - 4
