    Number of blue marbles = n

    number of green marbles = 3n+4

    n+3n+4=36

    4n+4=36

    4n=32

    n=8

    sub n=8 into 3n+4

    =3 (8) + 4

    =24+4

    =28

    therefore there are 28 green marbles
