    Step-by-step explanation:

    hello:

    5x + 7y = 2 ... (*)

    -2x + 7y = 9 ... (**)

    by (*) and (**) calculate 7y

    7y = 2-5x

    7y = 9+2x

    9+2x = 2-5x

    2x+5x = 2-9

    7x=-7 so : x = - 1

    put this value in expression : 7y = 9+2x

    7y = 9+2 (-1)

    7y = 7

    y = 1

    conclusion one solution (-1, 1)
