    3/10 glue stick has more glue.

    Why?

    Compare the numbers when they have the same denominator. This means you have to find the LCM (lowest common multiple) of 8 and 10.

    The LCM of 8 and 10 is 40.

    8*5 = 40 and 10*4 = 40.

    This means to multiply 1 (from 1/8) by 5 and multiply 3 (from 3/10) by 4.

    You get this;

    1/8 = 5/40 and 3/10 = 12/40

    Since they have the same denominator, whichever numerator is larger is the bigger amount. In this case, it's 12/40 or 3/10.

    Therefore, the glue stick with 3/10 glue left has more glue.

    The one with 3/10 of glue left has more glue.

    If you make a bar graph or convert both numbers to fractions, 3/10 is greater than 1/8.
