    To make the statement false, a =.5 and b =.25.

    This is because in order to make this statement true, you simply need b to be smaller than a. If this happens, the number will be less than one. All you need to make the statement false is the reverse. So there is an infinite number of choices you could make for this as long as those conditions are satisfied.
