A full water tank holds 500 litres.

The tank begins to leak water and is losing 14% of its contents every hour. Find how much water is left in the tank after 8 hours.

    If the tank holds 500 litres and its loosing 14% every hour, just multiply

    14%x8h=112%

    This means the tank has lost all of its water.

    You can also do 500/100=5 < - 1% of the tank, then multiply it by 14 and it gives you 70 litres. Then, multiply this by 8 and its gonna be 560 litres. So this means the tanks is going to have 0 litres left at the end.
