There are a total of 10 socks

From those ten socks there are 4 white and 4 black. A total of 8 white and black socks

We are looking for the probability of selecting a white or black sock out of total socks

So the numbe of white and black socks are 8, and the total is 10

So there is a 8/10 chance to select a white or black sock (This would simplify to 4/5)

    So your answer is D
